About
Rebekah was born and raised on the island of Oʻahu, Hawai’i. She is inspired by the ‘Ōlelo No‘eau, “i ka wā ma mua, i ka wā ma hope” which serves as a metaphor for a greater understanding of past, present, and future perspectives. Her goals aim to mitigate issues related to human-made impact that affect our present and to be able to redirect our minds to shift the present norms towards a more sustainable future.
Rebekah is passionate about architecture, not because of the built environment, but because of the natural environment and the various aspects that exist within. With respect to indigenous perspectives, a sense of place, and dignifying diverse communities, she believes the importance of phenomenological spaces can create a sense of inclusion, connection to culture, significance of land, identity and sense of belonging.
